Welcome to A New Year!
We are on the cusp of a brand new year -- WOW! Where did 2024 go?!
Winter has arrived in my neck of the woods with a snowfall and colder temperatures. Although the season took a while to get here, I knew we'd experience winter at some point.
Seasons come and seasons go, in nature and in life. In 2007, I published my first book, a children's chapter book titled Sage's Big Adventure: Living With Blindness. That same year I attended my first writer's conference, I walked the lovely mesas of northern New Mexico and the gardens of the facility at what was the Glorieta Conference Center, and I felt inspired to create a devotional titled Seasons of Life, Seasons of Nature. Now, nearly two decades later, I am publishing that book, and I am offering a FREE COPY as we enter this New Year.

tI began my author career in 2007, and since then, including this devotional, I've published nearly 25 books plus created three boxed sets for my sweet romance books and have been a contributor to four anthologies and eight Chicken Soup for the Soul books. Additionally, I am a freelance author, and in 2025 I will have my first article published in the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's Wyoming Wildlife magazine. I love being an author and writer!
During the past few weeks, I've focused on completing this book and planning more for 2025. I wasn't able to finish a few that I wanted to get done, but they are on the front burner to complete in 2025. Plans are for three books, including a cozy mystery romance set in Yellowstone National Park. I signed up for a course on writing cozy mystery stories, purchased a 'how-to-book, and plan to attend a workshop in January. I'm excited to step into this new genre, with a setting that I'm familiar with, and involving a park ranger, which I desired to be when in my teens. I'm reading some cozies, as well as a few thrillers set in America's national parks, for inspiration and education. The mystery will begin at the Lake Hotel, a lovely historic lodging facility. I also purchased a few books on the hotel's history for background information.
The other books I'm working on include Rescuing Sarah, a story I've mentioned before about a woman who runs an animal rescue and the firefighter she meets at a puppy mill. I'm finalizing the book with a planned February release. I 'm also planning a billionaire sweet romance that involves a woman who runs an animal rescue and the actor who moves in across the road. I envision this being an enemies-to-lovers troup, and I'm excited to move forward with it as well as complete and release Rescuing Sarah.
Other plans and dreams I have for 2025 are spending time with family, particularly my parents who moved closer more than a year ago, and traveling. My husband's 70th birthday rolls around in April and our 25th wedding anniversary happens in the fall, therefore, we are making plans for a special trip in either the spring or autumn. Maybe both, with one being a more lengthy, bigger trip and the other a regional, shorter trek. There are other trips for 'bucket-list' trips when I turn 65 in 2026. I love dreaming and planning!
What are some of your hopes, plans, and dreams for the New Year?
I hope 2025 brings you joy and excitement as well, and that you and your family are blessed with health and fun adventures!
