Our presentation will focus on how authors/writers 'hook' their readers through story, character, and plot. Carol's book is titled "Finding the Good", a memoir, and I'll have copies of my latest sweet contemporary romance stories. | Notes: For the first 17 years of my life, I lived in southeastern Iowa, first in the town of Burlington and then moving to the country where I went to school in Sperry and Mediapolis. I'm returning to my "home turf" in September to visit friends and catch up with former classmates, and Chris at Burlington by the Book has graciously extended an invite to have a booksigning at his store, Burlington by the Book, in downtown Burlington. I hope many friends still in the area will stop in and say hello to me and Jeremiah and support two small business owners, Chris at the bookshop and me as the author. I plan to donate a portion of sales to the local animal shelter in honor of Happy Cat Month, Dog Ownership Responsibility Month, and Hug Your Hound Day (Sept. 8). Bring some pet supplies to the bookstore for the local shelter as well -- and you'll receive a sweet surprise from me! | ||||||||
